What the Element does - and the four things it cannot do at any price
The Element is Raymarine's angling-led range, and the one model here that cannot be networked - so the right-hand column matters more than usual.

Not supported
- ✗Confirm the chart region before you orderLightHouse Charts come in regional cards and the names are misleading if you sail from a British port. WESTERN Europe is the region that covers Ireland and Great Britain, along with Portugal, Spain, France, Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium. NORTHERN Europe is Norway, Sweden, Finland, the Baltic states, Poland, Denmark and northern Germany - it does not cover UK waters. Our listing for this unit is not currently consistent about which card it ships with, so please phone or email us to confirm the region before ordering, and we will make sure you get the right one.
- ✗No touchscreenThe Element is keypad controlled. Raymarine describes the range as easy-to-use keypad controlled chartplotters, and there is no touch input at all. Some people prefer that offshore; it is worth knowing before it arrives.
- ✗No network portThere is no RayNet connector. An Element cannot drive a second station, a networked sonar module or a marine camera, and it cannot be added to an Axiom network. Two Elements can share data over SeaTalkng, and that is the limit.
- ✗Radar over Wi-Fi only, with no Doppler and no MARPAThe only radar an Element supports is a Quantum paired over Wi-Fi. Raymarine states plainly that Element does not support Doppler or MARPA features - so no colour-coded closing targets and no target acquisition and tracking. There is no wired radar option.
- ✗Not an autopilot controllerThe Element sends navigation data to an NMEA 2000 autopilot so it can follow a track. It is not a pilot head - you still need a dedicated controller such as a p70s to steer the boat from.
- ✗Single sonar channel on the SThis is the S model: one conical CHIRP channel giving depth and bottom contour. No DownVision, no SideVision, no RealVision 3D - those need an Element HV and an HV-100 transducer.
- ✗No transducer in the boxRaymarine's published pack list for this SKU is the display and its mounting hardware. A CPT-S transducer is a separate purchase, and an Element S cannot use an HV-100.
- ✗No NMEA 0183 and no video inputRaymarine lists exactly three data connections on the Element: SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000, Wi-Fi, and the transducer port. There is nothing else.
What you get
The big screen
12.1 inches of 1280 x 800 IPS at 1500 nits, with 89 degree viewing angles. The IPS panel is exclusive to the 12 within the Element range - the 7 and 9 inch models are TN.
Keys, not glass
An eight-axis pad, an oversized waypoint key and three programmable Quicklaunch keys. It works with cold wet hands and it does not need looking at to operate.
Charts in the box
A preloaded LightHouse card with a free year of Premium. Check the region against where you sail - Great Britain and Ireland are on the Western Europe card, not the Northern Europe one.
Depth to 274 metres
A single conical high CHIRP channel with a CPT-S transducer. Depth and bottom type, which is what a cruising boat actually uses sonar for.
Reading a Raymarine part number
Raymarine publishes no decoding key. The mapping below is read straight off Raymarine's own variant lists, so it is reliable for the models we stock rather than a rule you can extrapolate to anything else.
Element 12 S
Raymarine's variant list gives E70535 as the 12 inch conical sonar and GPS combo. E70536 is the 12 inch HV, with HyperVision.
Chart card, no transducer
A -00 suffix is a chart bundle only. A -05 suffix is the version that also includes an HV-100 transducer, and it carries a different base number entirely.
The chart region
-WEU is Western Europe and is the region that includes Great Britain and Ireland. -NEU is Northern Europe, which is Scandinavia and the Baltic and does not cover the UK. -MED is the Mediterranean. Confirm with us which card this unit ships with before you order.

Fitting it
- Trunnion bracket and a surface or flush mounting gasket are both supplied in the box on Axiom+, Axiom2 Pro 9 and 12, and every Element. The Axiom2 Pro 16 is the exception - its trunnion bracket is the optional A80722 kit.
- Waterproof to IPx6 and IPx7 across all three ranges.
- Rated from -25 to +55 C in use, -30 to +70 C in store, and up to 93 per cent humidity at 40 C.
- The supplied cable carries power and NMEA 2000 together: 1.5 m of power lead and 0.5 m of NMEA 2000 lead on Axiom+ and Element.
- Check the depth behind the panel, not just the cut-out. Raymarine quotes Axiom+ depth including cables, and a right-angled power cable saves roughly 20 mm.
- Every one of these displays has a grounding point - an M3 screw, spring washer and crimp terminal are supplied for it.
NMEA 2000 basics
- SeaTalkng is Raymarine's own connector system for NMEA 2000. Electrically it is NMEA 2000, and a DeviceNet adaptor cable is supplied in the box so it will join a standard backbone.
- Load Equivalency Number is 1 for Axiom+, Axiom2 Pro and Element - each display draws one LEN from the backbone.
- None of these displays has an NMEA 0183 port. An older DSC VHF, AIS unit or instrument head that only speaks NMEA 0183 needs a converter onto the NMEA 2000 bus before it will talk to the plotter.
- A backbone wants a terminator at each end and one power injection point, with a spur running off it to each device. Spur length is limited, so plan the run before you buy cable.

Live prices and the figures each model actually publishes. Where Raymarine does not publish a value for every model in this table the row is left off entirely rather than shown with gaps - which is why weight and autopilot control are absent, as Raymarine states neither for the Axiom+ range.

Choosing a Raymarine chartplotter
Three questions that decide which Raymarine you should be looking at. Every figure below is Raymarine's own published data - where they do not publish something, we have left it out rather than guess.
Charts: Western Europe, not Northern Europe
Raymarine sells the same display with and without cartography, and the regional names are actively misleading if you sail from a British port.
- LightHouse Charts Western Europe covers Ireland, Great Britain, Portugal, Spain, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Netherlands, Belgium, Czechia, Hungary and Slovakia.
- LightHouse Charts Northern Europe covers Norway, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany, Denmark, Switzerland, Austria, Czechia, Hungary and Slovakia.
- A display bought without a chart card is a plotter with no chart on it. Raymarine labels those kits, in their own words, Charts not included in this kit.
- Every LightHouse region ships with a free year of the Premium subscription; renewal runs through chartmanager.raymarine.com.
- Axiom and Element displays also accept Navionics and C-MAP cartography on a microSD card.
Do you want sonar, or only a chartplotter?
This is the one that catches people out on the Axiom+ range, and it cannot be fixed later.
- Axiom+ 7 (E70634) and Axiom+ 9 (E70636) have no transducer connector at all. Raymarine calls them chartplotter-only display variants - they cannot be turned into fishfinders by adding a transducer.
- Axiom+ 7 RV (E70635) carries the 25-pin RealVision connector and four sonar channels built in - but no transducer in the box.
- Axiom2 Pro S has a single CHIRP conical channel. Axiom2 Pro RVM adds RealVision MAX plus a separate 1 kW transducer port.
- Element S is one conical CHIRP channel. Element HV adds DownVision, SideVision and RealVision 3D in both 350 kHz and 1.2 MHz forms.
Will the system ever grow?
Networking is where these three ranges genuinely separate, and it is decided on the day you buy the display.
- Element has no RayNet port. Its only radar is a Quantum over Wi-Fi, with no Doppler and no MARPA target tracking, and it cannot drive a second station or a camera.
- Axiom+ has one 10/100 RayNet port and drives both Quantum 2 and Cyclone radars.
- Axiom2 Pro has two gigabit RayNet ports, a six-core processor and 64 GB of storage.
- Only Axiom2 Pro has an analogue video input, and only Axiom2 Pro has HDMI out to repeat the screen to a saloon or flybridge monitor.

Simply bring your order confirmation or delivery note and the item you wish to return or exchange, unused and in its original packaging, to our till point in the shop. If you paid by debit or credit card, please ensure you also bring the payment card you originally used to buy the item/s.

1. Start your return through the Returns Process in your Fox’s Chandlery online customer account within 90 days of delivery.
2. Once approved, you will receive a Return Authorisation Number (RAN) and shipping instructions.
3. Package the item securely in its original packaging – please do not apply labels or tape directly to the product packaging.
4. Use a tracked courier service and always obtain proof of postage.
5. Please allow up to 14 working days after we receive the goods for your return to be processed.
