NMEA 2000
NMEA 2000 is the common language of modern marine electronics - one backbone cable carrying position, depth, wind, engine and AIS data between instruments from different brands. This collection covers the network hardware: backbone and drop cables in various lengths, T-connectors and multi-port blocks, terminators, power cables, Garmin starter kits, NMEA 0183 converters and the Raymarine SeaTalkNG adaptor cables that bridge Raymarine kit onto standard N2K.
A working network needs a few things right: a single backbone with a terminator at each end, one fused 12V power feed, and each device hanging off its own drop cable via a T-piece. Plan cable runs generously, and when mixing brands check the connector standard - most use the round Micro-C plug, while Raymarine's SeaTalkNG needs a simple adaptor cable.
